The first thing I noticed about Laziza is the smell of shawarma, proper spits with an onion on top, and their friendly staff. The onion on top did not create noticeable taste difference, but I admire every effort that goes into creating a good shawarma.
The worker asked minimal questions about how I would like my shawarma, but was engaging, ensuring I got the rice, potatoes, and toppings I wanted. A shawarma spot wins me over when the staff puts on garlic sauce, tahini, hot sauce without asking. Assuming my demographic and knowing what the proper sauce ratios are for me is what I hope for. This worker asked no questions about sauce he just went right to work. Surprisingly, he teetered the line of being too spicy, rather than lowballing me, which is rare, and I respected it.
Laziza was jointly rated by Austin and I (Jamie), I was slightly higher, and the score was averaged. No pickles given is a crime against all things shawarma Laziza and I won't forget what you did. However, this spot must have a secret pickled turnip recipe. Their pickled turnips are the best I've ever tasted. I only wished they gave me more.
